Coaching Development Manager - Paralympics New Zealand
The Paralympics New Zealand (PNZ) mission is to provide world class coach, athlete and administration systems that support and enhance all aspects of elite disabled athlete performance.
PNZ is seeking a Coaching Development Manager to provide leadership and implementation of the PNZ strategic plan, in the area of coaching.
PNZ is currently focused on 8 major sports; Track and Field Athletics, Swimming, Track and Road Cycling, Shooting, Dressage, Powerlifting, Boccia and Wheelchair Rugby.
The role will have a dual focus; working with National Sports Organisations to improve there disability coaching systems and programmes and to support and develop coaches currently working with elite disabled athletes. .
The CDM will engage with National Sporting Organisations to integrate disability components into coaching programmes and pathways. They will work with NSO’s to identify, recruit and induct coaches to work with disabled athletes as well as developing and regularly updating coaching resources and educational material specific to disability sport.
The successful applicant will have high level coaching experience and formal coaching qualifications through Coaching New Zealand or National Sports Organisation frameworks They will demonstrate high levels of energy, initiative and an ability to work unsupervised. Highly developed communication and presentation skills are essential as is the ability to facilitate and maintain strong relationships at all levels.
Knowledge and experience in the disability environment would be a distinct advantage as would strong international networks within the disability sport community.
This is a full time salaried position reporting to the High Performance Manager.
